Michelle Patu joins the CNSSNZ Committee

Hi there

My name is Michelle Patu and I am excited to be a new member of the CNSSNZ committee.

I look forward to serving the NZ CNS community by supporting &

promoting evidence based care, professional development and peer support.

I am from the UK, I trained in London and I have experience in ED, Cardiology,

Acute Medicine, Child Health and Clinical Operations. I was a Senior Nurse and

CNS in a major trauma centre in Sheffield, England prior to moving to NZ. My

husband is from Invercargill and I have 2 sons. It was a family decision to move

to NZ where we have happily settled on a lifestyle block in Southland and my

sons both attend University of Otago.

I work in Invercargill ED and I have embraced the NZ system. I attained a casual

CNS role shortly after starting in ED currently I have a fixed term CNS contract.

I have also been recruited as a coordinator on the ANZBA faculty and I

anticipate providing burns management courses in 2022.
