Featuring Morgan Spittal – Registered Nurse and Holistic Health Coach

Morgan spoke to us on aspects of wellness and how we can integrate this with our busy lives and careers. Morgan has set up her own business called “The Nourished Nurses Club NZ”.

Biography

I am a Registered Nurse and Holistic Health Coach. Early in my nursing career I experienced stress and poor work/life balance. I used under-eating and over-exercising to manage, which left me very unhappy and with a type of disordered eating pattern called Orthorexia. Through my own interest and learnings I discovered that health and wellbeing is about much more than just diet and exercise. I developed a real passion for holistic wellbeing, which recognises it takes a balance of what we eat, how we move our bodies, how we sleep and manage stress and the health of our relationships with ourselves and others. A balance of all of these "pillars" is what truly determines our health and wellbeing. I spent a year studying with The Institute of Integrative Nutrition to become a Health Coach in 2021. I now work for Nelson Bays Primary Health as a Health Improvement Practitioner providing free behavioural health consults in primary care for those with long term conditions and mild to moderate mental health presentations. I work part-time in my own private clinic at a Functional fitness studio in Nelson, where I provide health coaching to individuals either one on one or in group workshops.
